Showing up to therapy is a concrete way to quiet the commotion around you so you can reflect, process, and then take action to pursue the life you want with intentionality. It is my goal to establish an environment that is a safe place to let your guard down. Setting time aside to pause, take personal inventory, and process it all can feel like taking a healing breath. With your lungs full, and your resolve strengthened, you can discover ways to navigate your life with intentionality and purpose.
There is power in processing your story- in unpacking what you have been through and naming how it has played a role in shaping your life today. I work from a holistic perspective that recognizes the significance of every aspect of your life. You will be encouraged to closely examine your values, beliefs, and habits. You will have the opportunity to name what matters most to you so that you can live according to those values. I am forward-minded as a counselor. While sessions with me will absolutely be a time to pause and reflect, you will also use what you discover to propel you further into the person you are meant to become.
I believe every stage of life holds a unique opportunity to learn from the past and step boldly into the future. I have experience working with individuals in adolescence and the teenage years, as well as emerging, middle, and late adulthood. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Addictions Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University and pursued my Masters in Social Work from Aurora University to become a therapist.
I am inspired by everyone who takes the leap of faith to engage in therapy and am honored to have the opportunity to bear witness to the restorative work that results from that bravery.
I specialize in:
Trauma
Grief
Mediation
Crisis intervention
Motivational Interviewing
Family Systems Therapy
CBT
Testimonials
Jessica has been amazing! I was able to be open with her from the start and by the time I had my first session with her it felt like I had already known her. I was hesitant with the idea of therapy, but she has made me appreciate it.
I found Jessica originally because she specializes in ‘infant loss’ and we had just lost our baby at 6 months pregnant. Fast forward 2 years later and I am still religiously being guided and counseled by Jessica because of her instant ability to connect, tell me what I need to hear to make progress- all with a sense of compassion. I like her because she takes great interest in me and genuinely invests in my well being.
Jessica is absolutely amazing. She did everything to help me get better and feel better. I owe my new found happiness to her. Thank you very much.
